Rates

CVRT test fees set by the Road Safety Authority

Test fees are established by the Road Safety Authority and include VAT along with the Road Safety levy. Costs vary based on vehicle type, weight classification, and axle configuration, so check the official schedule for your specific vehicle.

What is a CVRT?

The Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness Test (CVRT) is a mandatory test for commercial vehicles in Ireland, previously known as the DOE test. It checks that your vehicle meets minimum safety and roadworthiness standards set by the Road Safety Authority.

What should I bring for my CVRT appointment?

1. Photo ID (Drivers Licence, Passport or Public Services card)
2. Appropriate Test Fee
3. Vehicle Washed and cleaned
4. Wheel Trims/ Hub Caps removed

What hours are CD Carrick Commercials Test Centre Open?

Monday to Thursday 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, Friday 7:00 am to 4:00pm.We are closed on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays.

I have just passed my test but I have not received the disc for the windscreen?

A Pass Statement will be given to you on the day of test but the CRW Disc for display on your windscreen is issued by post normally within 5 working days to the address the vehicle is registered to.

How long will the CVRT test take?

The Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) test can take from 40mins to 1 hour to complete. The Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCV) can take from 1-2 hours.

What if my Vehicle fails the CVRT Test?

Your vehicle will require to be retested within 21 days of the original test or max of 4,000 km travelled since original test. Failure to meet your retest date deadline will result in the vehicle having to go through a full test again.
There are no exceptions to the RSA 21-day retest rule unfortunately. If the vehicle is not presented for the retest within 21 days it will have to go through a full test again.

Is there a fee for my CVRT Retest?

If an equipment retest is required then a retest fee shall apply. If no equipment is required to carry out the retest (visual defects only) then there will be no charge for the retest.

071 9622515. Office hours are Monday to Thursday 9:00am to 6:00pm and Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm.

I have misplaced/lost my CRW. How can I get a replacement issued?

You can request a copy online through the CVRT website using the following link: https://operator.cvrt.ie/vehicle/requestCRWpublic
The CRW will be issued by post to the address on your logbook.
